Welcome back to the new school year! I can’t wait for us to learn about all of our wonderful topics we have this year including The Queen, Dinosaurs and The Beach!
The staff in our classroom…
Miss E Murphy – Class Teacher
Mrs H Finegan – Teaching Assistant
Miss J Guilfoyle – SEN support
Miss L Mills/ Miss J Popplewell – Reading and Pupil Premium Support
A few things to know…
This year our PE lesson will be Tuesday Afternoon. Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct school PE kit which consists of a white top, some black shorts and a pair of black pumps all labelled correctly with you child’s full name.
Book Bags will be given out on a Friday containing your child’s homework, weekly spellings and their changed reading book. Please return this every Thursday with their completed homework.
Half-termly homework will be given out at the beginning of each new topic. One challenge should be completed each week and for every challenge completed your child will receive a dojo point. In addition to this, your child should read their home reading book daily and have it signed by an adult to show that you have supported/ questioned them at home. There will be a £5 charge for any books that are lost or damaged.
Reading a variety of different books, visiting Oldham Library weekly or completing a book challenge will encourage your child to have pleasure for reading and broaden their imagination to support them in reading.
Water Bottles and Snacks
Children should bring a labelled water bottle daily so that they can drink this at the appropriate time. Prior to school (From 8:30am), children will be able to purchase a healthy snack from our Tuck Shop.
On Fridays, we will be having our weekly spelling test. The weekly words will be sent out on a Friday and you will be expected to support your child in learning the words in preparation for the test. In addition to this, we will also have a mental maths test on Fridays which will work on any KS1 basic skills.
Please ensure that your child comes to school with a waterproof coat. Children play out in all weathers and may be needed for outdoor lessons.
The Giganotosaurus and Tyrannosaurus Drip!
We got to meet our new teachers!!
